I wouldn't be able to inform you if I didn't have a few bamboo window blinds of my own. They have been a
favorite home furnishing of mine for as far back as I can remember! The very first week that I moved into my new
home I was in search of a few window blinds to put up and the ones that teased my fancy the most were the bamboo
varieties. To add to my delight, on installing the blinds I found that they let through light perfectly. It might
sound crazy but I often find myself peering dreamily out of them!
I had some doubts about bamboo window blinds in the beginning though, as from what I learnt in my biology class
was right - bamboo is merely a type of grass! How on earth could it be durable enough to be made into window blinds
and other items of home furnishings? Well, I don't have my doubts anymore - they do a great job!
The Steps To Installing Bamboo Window Blinds
The following instructions are for bamboo window blinds to be installed indoors, for outdoor blinds there are a few
extra considerations which you can read about in the accompanying installation manual.
- The first step is to take the hinged bracket doors out of the packaging and screw them into the top part of
the wooden window frame or into a sidewall.
- Now take the valance clips and attach them to the front of the head rail.
- Now you can place the blind head rail into the brackets.
- The next step may or may not be applicable to you, depending on the particular blinds, usually though,
there will be a tilt wand to install at this stage.
- Pull the tilt control sleeve in a downward direction.
- If you wish to lower the blinds now, just pull on the cord in the direction of the center of the
blind.
- Now you just have to click the valence into the clips to secure everything.
